Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our high school team in Trenton, just a 35 minute drive from Detroit. This temporary, part-time role involves supporting approximately 30 students while covering a leave of absence from November 2024 to potentially February 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to high school students.
- Assist students in developing coping strategies and addressing personal or academic challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to create a supportive learning environment.
- Engage with parents and guardians to promote the well-being of students.
- Document and maintain student progress notes and records in accordance with school policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or related field.
- Active Social Worker license/certification for the state of Michigan.
- Experience working with high school students is preferred.
- Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a school environment.
